The interactome
Interactions between proteins are important for many cellular functions. For example, signals from the exterior of a cell are mediated to the inside ny a series of protein-protein interactions: the signaling pathway or signal transduction. Protein-protein interactions are at the center of system biology.
In this chapter, we survey the experimental methods as well as the computational approaches developed to study protein-protein interactions.
