What is Bioinformatics

dna computer
The term bioinformatics was cornered in 1988 by Dr Hwa Lim to designate "a collective term for [biological] data compilation, organisation, analysis and dissemination". In this chapter, we will introduce the different source of data currently available, with a special emphasis on genomics data. We will then describe bioinformatics, with a description of the current challenges faced by scientists in the field.
